What is a zine?A zine is a fan-made magazine where artists gather to create various content revolving around a specific theme.***What is the NOW OR NEVER! zine about?Based on the theme of Splatoon 3's Grand Festival, we aim to explore the question "In the past, present and future, what is the Splatoon universe like?"". The zine itself will therefore be split into those 3 chapters.We allow all characters (canon, OCs and other) to be featured and want to give artists and writers a chance to show their ideas and concepts, even AUs, as long as it's something that could actually happen in-universe at any moment in time. What did the sea creature's lifes look like 10, 50, 1000 years ago? What is currently happening behind the scenes after the Grandfest? How do the world and the people change? Those are just some of the questions we would like to answer with this project.***Where do the earnings go to?All earnings will be donated to a charity that is yet to be decided alongside the contributors of the zine. It's worth noting that we're looking forward to support charities that have yet to receive attention from the community.***Will there be a physical copy I can buy?Unfortunately not, we have already planned everything being 100% digital for various reasons. Please do not press us to change our mind or offer to help with physical production.That being said, we're absolutely okay with personal-use printings of the zine!***Will you accept comics or written works?Yes, absolutely! Comics up to 8 pages are allowed, or even more if discussed with us beforehand. Considering that a lot of news concepts and AUs will be featured, we would be more than happy to have more texts and explanations than usual, so feel free to partner up with a friend!***Are my OCs or (this character) allowed?This zine explores all parts of the sea creatures' lifestyles, that means all characters are allowed! Be it if you decide to show the idols after work, your OCs canon event, or even the creatures of the Deep Sea Metro in their homes, is all up to you. Just keep it realistic to the Splatoon universe.***What if I don't have a portfolio?Clean gallery-like social media accounts such as Instagram, art-only Twitter, Artstation, Artfol, DeviantArt or a simple Google Drive folder will do (⚠️MAKE SURE WE CAN ACCESS IT⚠️). It does not need to be Splatoon art only, but having at least 1 Splatoon piece is encouraged!***I'm not very popular, can I still join?We're choosing contributors solely based on their portfolio, ideas and passion! We want to give all artists and writers a place to shine. No matter your follower count or skill, you can always apply!***Is there going to be a Discord server for the zine?It is mandatory for all accepted contributors to join our Discord server for further information and updates.
